Theme: Dark Dormitory

Asher plopped down on his couch, not bothering to turn on the light. He and Jay both liked the dark, perhaps from being around each other so much. Jay was, after all, a dark dragon. Asher did take a moment to look around the room and make sure everything was in order. The college had been having some reported break-ins recently and though he was careful not to leave any window or door unlocked, he didn't trust his fellow students. The entryway was clear, his closet to the side. He lived in a private room due in part to the fact that he was grumpy and unpleasant to be around, and also because he was sick and slowly dying. He was always careful to mention that part to people who tried to befriend him. It was almost like a warning- "Hey quit trying to befriend me, I'm dying", and also a defense mechanism.

Jay was curled up next to Asher on the couch. The room was just big enough for a couch and a bed, and Asher wasn't about to have some roommate take the place of his couch. He had a small array of cooking utensils in the corner that he constantly told Jay to keep out of. Jay was notorious for finding snacks and eating them, regardless of what Asher was saving them for. So the room went door, open closet, couch, and a cooking area with a desk and a set of cubbies containing all of Asher's materials. That was one wall of the room. It was a narrowly made space, the college not wanting to spend a lot on the luxury of the students, so Asher's bed ended up being right across from the cooking space. Because of his ailment, he avoided extra work, and well also because of his laziness. Truthfully though, it was harder on him climbing into a bunk bed, so his small bed was set almost as low to the ground as could be. There was just enough space under to store some storage containers and for a bed for Jay. Jay liked to sleep in the darkest, smallest space he could find, and that just so happened to be under Asher's bed. It worked out well.

Of course Blep couldn't fit into his dorm, and she wouldn't want to. She was a great creature of the sea. Asher was also a little glad not to have her constantly with him. jay was his best friend and it was different. Blep was like a second mom, but a cooler one who smelled like the sea breeze, and could crush all your enemies. She stayed outside in the sea are, so thankfully there was no need to make accommodations for the giant leviathan in Asher's tiny dorm.

Beside his bed was a large desk, though he actually rarely used it for studying. There was a screen set there that he used to watch shows and play games. Really it was more of an entertainment center than a desk for working. Still he did actually care a little bit about his grades and his coursework, so it did see some use. D's get degrees though, right? He wasn't actually looking to use his degree, so he didn't care about getting grades. He didn't care about all that much besides his dragons and a few other topics of interest. To the side of the desk, next to the entry door, was a side door leading to a bathroom that he shared with two other guys. He wasn't a fan of sharing it with them, but he only had to do the cleaning once a month, thanks to splitting up the responsibilities, and that was better than having to do all the cleaning, he figured.

There were two windows in the room; one large one, and one small but long one in the top of the ceiling. The large one was covered with blackout curtains and was rarely looked out of. The small one closer to the ceiling seemed to have no real function, but Asher liked it because it let the moonlight in at night. Jay liked to lounge in its windowsill and watch the going-ons of the night if he wasn't sleeping.

The last piece of furniture in the room, besides the desk chair, was another small set of shelves between the entry door and the bathroom door. These held herbs, flasks, and books. Some of the books were for his courses, some were for personal reading or fiction, and some were his prized alchemy books. Jay had first introduced him to the world of alchemy, and Asher had fallen in love. If there was an alchemy major, he'd be graduating at the top of his class. Sadly, he didn't think his school really condoned the practice of such magical science. All seemed to be in order. His possessions hadn't been touched, and he and jay could relax on the couch a bit before opening a textbook, or finding something to eat.
