D-052: Castle on the Hill
Theme: Medieval
Glancing around the new home, the Knight didn't have a need for all these fancy amenities or big rooms with large beds, but it was its own fault. It had said the word for 'Castle' when asked about where it would like to reside in. The only reason it had named such a large place wasn't for the spacious or high life style, it was for the hallways. Strolling down the long halls, it felt a sense of peace in its patrols. If it didn't have its dragons to take care of, it might even spend all day walking the halls where no one but it would likely walk. Then again, with such a large place, there was the fact that it had been built very close to a large village the Knight may or may not have been expected to pay attention to. No one had given it orders to do this however, so the likelihood of it going down for more than food to care for any dragons were slim.
'I like it!' Mino perked up in its mind through their link, a strange thing as they passed by the kitchen for the third time. As long as he was happy, the construct would be too. Stepping into the kitchen this time, it went up to the fridge, pulling out a handful of baby carrots. Holding them up to the helmet, the little crossbreed scurried out and onto the hand to start munching the offerings. It was easy to sense when he was hungry at least through their bond. Turning back to the patrol, the dining was as over-sized for the single inhabitant rider as the kitchen was. A long wooden table stretching out with at least ten chairs on each side of it. Perfectly clean and ready to be eaten upon, such a thing might never happen save for if anyone actually invaded the home or heaven forbid visit the strange creature that lived here. Passing through to the main hall again, there was plenty of storage, downstairs rooms, two living rooms, and an upstairs he chose to climb next. This hall wasn't as interesting to patrol as the other ones downstairs. It went in a single square lined with bedroom and more bathrooms, their only use being when Mino wanted to take his bath or the Knight needed to rinse off. There was the strange machines that cleaned his cloths, they were probably the one of the more useful things in the house as far as the Knight could tell. Strange how the living creatures built all of this for it, but it wasn't able to make the most of it.. a displeasing feeling of sadness welled up slightly in the armor. It'd have to think of more ways to repay the humans for what it was given, roads were like hallways weren't they? They could be walked, patrolled, kept safe. Perhaps it could extend its roaming outward to the numerous living things around it to make sure they had everything they needed as well. Mino chirped up that he wouldn't mind at all going outside more, that the air around the village would be quite welcome and that settled it for the Knight. The house was large, full of pretty paintings, nice tables, plush beds, but he would spend the majority of his time not walking its halls aimlessly, but keeping the living things below company.
As the day waned on, his little dragon yawned tiredly. A sign that it was time to stop walking and settle down somewhere. Making one more loop around the house, the Knight took up its favorite spot, standing between a painting and a vase at the entrance hall where it could watch the door. Looking like nothing more than a normal suit of armor as the gem embedded in its chest blinked out into darkness.
