D-105: Tinker's Toolshed

Owned by Dragonpud

Theme: Tinker's Toolshed

Tucked away in a large forest surrounding Tsillah's home is a small, seemingly abandoned building. Overgrown weeds, vines and shrubs line what had once been a path but is now just a jumble of cobbles taking a meandering path around more bushes to eventually land at the doorway of the not-so abandoned house. Vines crawled up the walls and birds twittered cheerfully, winging in and out of open windows and roosting in window boxes next to random flowers and a few weeds.

His workshop was a large two-story building, with white-washed walls with several metal pillars for strengthening the outer walls and an attempt at making it look like a castle. It looked more like a children's cardboard playhouse, but it was far sturdier than its appearance belied. The large double doors stood open to the weather, inviting guests inside into the suddenly cool air. The foyer was wide, hallways moving off to either side as it circled (squared?) around Garth's main room. The left was a set of stairs, cluttered with those stair boxes that fit on two or three stairs and lined with haphazardly placed pictures, children's artwork and a few shelves with odds and ends placed upon them, much of which was unknown in origin.

Up the stairs is the Tinker's private rooms, as cluttered as the rest of his home. A few plants sat on the large window seat and a pull down bed was set against the wall, leaving the room clear for more boxes of materials, wood and other bits the man had picked up. The far left was yet another desk, but this held only papers and a few pencils.

Back downstairs and to the right, the corridor opens into the main room with intricate sliding wrought iron doors. The open room is large with high windows and plenty of open space, but extremely cluttered, with boxes here and there, stacked atop one another. Dozens of shelves line the walls with countless projects in various states of unfinished. An enormous work bench dominates the room and fairly dwarfs the tall man crouched over it. Blueprints, sketches and a few wood-carving tools are scattered atop it. What looks like a mechanical lizard of some sort sits on the table, peering at the papers in front of the pale-skinned elf. Occasionally, Garth will say something to it and it will clink and chitter back, clearly giving its opinion of whatever the tinker was making this time.

The last part of the house was the back room. Moving past the Tinker's workroom and down the end of the hall, it turns and turns again before opening into an under-the-stairs miniature shrine. As if set apart from the rest of the house, this little place was softly lit with scented candles and decorated in a few shades of blue. A large fiery feline statue dominates the attention, yet seemingly takes up no room at all. A few red and orange throw blankets are crumpled on the floor, but with a few blue pillows, provide a comfortable spot to sit.
