Theme: Secret Cave

He was running, bolting across the ground like a bat out of hell, his small dragon clinging to his riders surprisingly well kept fur with a death grip. Birdy’s eyes were wide, something had scared him. “Hey, hey…can we…not?” The voice in his head was soft and he slowed down. He was panting a little, breathing heavily. The bat-like dragon took a deep breath before collapsing with a sigh, his fingers relaxing. “What’s the problem?” They had been in a mostly empty small village to pick up supplies that no matter how hard Birdy looked, he couldn’t find. Things to illuminate large dark spaces. He was in a shop, nervously purchasing what he needed. He left the store and it’s quiet owner and looked around when he heard a loud crack and laughter coming towards him and without actually looking to find out he had run, his materials clinking against each other as he did. Ram feared that they may even break with how loud the sounds were.

“I don’t like people, they’re loud and obnoxious and I don’t want to deal with them unless I HAVE to…” The small blue dragon stood, gently walking up his rider’s neck and then settled on his head. “Yeah but it was just a loud noise?” There was a pause and you could really hear how heavily the yellow cat was breathing in the pleasant quietness around them. “I don’t like loud noises…”

Oh. The small blue bat-like dragon gave a little nod, resting his head on his rider's head, rubbing a little against the feline's head with his own. When Birdy began to move again it was at a slower pace. Together, in a much calmer state Birdy and Ram made their way back to the place they would call home. Birdy had spotted it after Ram had, the feline liked how secluded it was and how hidden the entrance was. When they got to it Birdy took a deep breath, about to ask when Ram slid down his neck and began to rummage around in the bags the cat had on either side of his furry body. After maybe about a minute the small dragon pulled a lantern out, Birdy turned his head to grab it and Ram went back in, searching for matches next. He found them and happily leapt from the feline's back. Now the dragon couldn’t fly just yet but he stretched out his wings as if they were a form of parachute. He could support himself very long but it wasn’t a very high jump.

Birdy set the lantern down and Ram tried to light a match, after a few unsuccessful tries the small stick of wood lit aflame and he quickly pressed it against the candle wick, happy when it lit up and the match died. Birdy nodded, “Good job…” When he went to pick the lantern back up he waited an extra second, letting the small blue dragon scurry up onto the feline’s head. Together they set into the nice dark cave, “We need a door here,” The words came out as if the feline wasn’t sure but he was 100% sure that there would be a door there.

“Ooo! It should be like a rock door! Or a door that looks like rocks? So anyone who comes in would just think that the door was the end of the cave but it’s not!” The bat-like dragon spoke quickly and excitedly, a contrast to the calm creature that he had been not too long ago.

The yellow cat nodded, that was a damn good idea. “Yes, I like that plan.”
