While Richard has inherinted both from his family, he has etched out his own path in life through cunning trades and heavy-handed displays of power. Starting out with barely anything, this man made a living for himself by enacting out the wills of others as a soldier of a private militia. Now that he has the money, he runs his own company, renting it out to others and enlisting people under its 'protection'.
Richard has a small passion for technology as well, especially after losing his arm from an infected gunshot wound. He readily keeps a commincation device in his left ear and has augmented reality implants in his left eye. Robot manufacturing is his second source of income and control- almost his entire staff in his estate is automated.
For years, Richard had strived to be a dragon rider. He'd seen them as beacons of power, impressed by their displays of magic and feats of strength. Many eggs have passed before him in his search. It was only when he made a name for himself when two managed to connect with him at once - a definite pleasure, for sure. He takes care of the two of them as if they were his own sons.
