Ashiwa was born to a caring family of Silverwings, who did their best to protect her from any harm, or even just any other potential threats. Her family actually protected her too much, and although she resented it at times, she later learned loyalty from her parents. She is friends with a Common, and often visited the other Li'hun. However, things did not turn out as well for her as one day a raging fire swept the canyon where she lived. She was almost an adult at that time, so was able to fly onto an outcropping of rock just as the wildfire consumed the bottom of the canyon, which was lined with dried grass, literally adding fuel to the fire. Ashiwa watched her parents fly in to rescue her sister, who was younger than her and could not fly yet, and never come out again. She left the canyon behind and travelled the world, seeking something to fill her with happiness again. During her travels she realised that she had a strange connection to all things that are free in the skies, whether that may be a giant bird-dragon or another Li'uhn. After caring for life forms of all shapes and sizes, she finally realised that an emotional connection with another being and having something/someone to care about is how happiness is created. Ashiwa went back to her friend again, and was more friends than the keeper of multiple dragons. However, the events of the canyon never left her, and no one knows how a fire of that size could have started in a canyon. If she ever found out who was responsible... There will be bloodshed.
