Originally raised to become a servant, Cortez was groomed to become the tutor, best friend, protector, and eventual concubine of his immortal young master. Well educated, he prefers to think through situations over diving right in to them. Always intrigued to learning something as well, at times he'll choose the more dangerous or dumber option if he thinks he'll grasp something new out of it. He was perfectly happy having his life planned out for him prior, willing to give his young master the world; but without them, he's trying to live more in the moment than dwell on the past.
Since coming through to these strange new worlds, he's realized it's not the common for people to wander around in nightmare forms. Preferring not to spook people, get attacked by wandering adventurers, or have monster bounties placed on his head, he has come to accept the fact that he needs to blend in with his human form.
Still learning to get over his shy demenor while human, he's had a some trouble strolling around casually, but quickly picked up the easiest way for him to get along in this new environment was to keep traveling. Caravans were usually friendly enough and had all sorts of different races gathered together for protection. While they don't mind a demon too much, he still wears multiple layers and stuffs his sleeves so his exposed bones don't make people too uncomfortable, going so far as to bandage his tail as well.
Between all the stories shared, places to see, and brand new things to learn, Cortez actually found himself excited to find out what all there was to gleam from his new home.
