[Trade] Of Robins and Clouds - Flexibility Trial

Flashes of lightning lit the freezing area, thunder following mere moments later, the sound resounding over the icy waters that were to be the host of Robin’s and Cirrus’s next trail. Snow fell slowly, the atmosphere sparking with the electric and snow storm that surrounded. Cirrus shivered, her feathers flat with the misery of the area as she pressed against the larger dragon who was her companion. Already Keshet’s hooves were hidden beneath the layer of snow that had fallen, wings held to her body as she waited for the avian to continue moving.

Robin didn’t quite look as miserable as he looked out over the ic cold waters, the small ocean dragon perched on his bare shoulder, he was however, most uncomfortable, it felt strange without his cloak and bow, both nearby been kept out of the stormy snowy weather, but in the ocean, the water could do more damage. ”Okay… to the islet…” he said, a glance at the cloud like dragons who still huddled next to her larger companion… who had somehow acquired a gemstone… had Cirrus bribed her? Baron, petted him, her tiny paws encouraging even as a small fish swam within the ball of water. With a breath he waded into the water, controlling his breathing as the freezing ocean hit him. Arrows, it was cold…. the storm occasionally lighting up larger chunks of ice, additional obstacles to traverse.. areas not yet explored by either of the companions, for this part of land changed seasonally and no two seasons were the same.

Cirrus watched Robin slip into the water, and took a breath.”’Kay, am ready. Thank you again Keshet.” she chirped, having since passed the light/storm hybrid a gemstone, payment, and a gift. Gifts were important. Giving herself a shake she paced down to the waters edge, flinching at another lightning flash as she peered out at the area, Robin’s form slowly vanishing into the storm. Unlike Robin, swimming was something she couldn’t do… she sunk.. so instead she was planning to use the ice floes to hop across… Keshet she know would fly alongside her. She backed up a few steps and ran forwards, leaping into the air and using her wings to slow her descent, talons scrabbling on the ice… she sensed more than saw Keshet lingering nearby, at ease within the storm like conditions. Panting Cirrus looked out to her next target preparing ti leap gain.. one floe at a time.

Robin tried not to dwell on the fact he could barely feel many of his feathers, his talons were mere pinpricks as he swam though the waters, his wings leaden weights, if it wasn’t for Baron’s comforting presence and supporting words he may of been tempted to turn back. At least the waters were calm, even with the storm above. One breath, two… his mind slipping 8th the same focus as when he used his bow. He felt the ice below the waters first, the top still some distance away, slowly he moved further out … a flash of black clouds as Cirrus made her own way to the islet, her larger companion keeping apace.

Cirrus tried not to focus on the freezing water mere paces away, the waters deeper than she was tall, tried not to think of what may happen, her gaze on each ice floe, stepping stones … that’s what they were…. At least the thunderstorm had passed, leaving only the snowy sea scape… and the islet that towers beyond. She halted, chest heaving as she glanced at the wider expanse of the sea, her talons crunching the ice as she gripped it. She spotted Robin swimming past, several of his feathers tip coated in ice. Keshet too, glided past…okay one last jump….

The ice tipped top of the islet loomed over him, as he continued through the waters… the ice floes fading until it was just him, the water … and Baron…oh and Barons fish.. happily swimming in its water ball…. It was the level of water that warned him he was at the edge of the islet. Rather than rushing he took his time, stretching with his back talons until he could feel a faint pressure, only then did he waddle out the waters. ”Slowly move everything to warm up.” Baron said softly, ten last things he wanted was for him to go into shock… Robin nodded…. Just as something hit him a mass of feathers and apologetic squawks… for Cirrus too had reached the islet….

Keshet and Baron remained with the pair as they recovered from their exertion… eventually they pair would move on.. for one trail remained .
