PA -Erre Coalition - Patrol duty
The mountainous island of Tsotska d’la Mer slowly started to appear on the far horizon, the waters below churning as the seas raged. Kovaithe grinned, smug that the Erre Coalition had once more reached out for help from her rider, it meant he was working his way through the ranks ....which meant more shin...errr.... respect. Meiron for his part was still silently cursing the Phinae-Mar, the letter hadn't been from her, but the wording had been much more... "Phinae said you'd be up for the job.and good luck?". The old lady he respected and didn't mind too much.. the others....... that was a bit too far. "Stop with the smug look and keep an eye out." Meiron muttered to his dragon ears flicking, the gryphon angling his wings as the rocky cliffs began to loom large over them, his gaze locked on a small light that beckoned. A signal.
Their contact raised a scaled arm as the gryphon landed, only to be accosted by a much smaller bipedal dragon, her wings far too large for her body and not yet strong enough stop support her weight in flight. Her head raised proudly as she introduced herself, causing her rider to roll his eyes, before literally picking up the hatchling and throwing her onto his back to a muffled shriek as she bounced. "So you need assistance , which would you prefer i focus on, the sea or the mountain passes?" He asked, ignoring Kovaithe's muttering as she tried to right herself, the Tsotska having a way better idea of where any potential attacks would come from. A grim look as the contact looked out over the area. "The mountains, the waves are much to dangerous to risk an attack, but the mountains... plenty of places to lie in wait before striking. Here is a list of the more common routes, we try to change them but..." he trailed off, handing over a map which Kovaithe grabbed, instead, her fur all fluffed up in indignation at her rider. "We'll get them." She all but growled, earning a snort from her rider, even as he inclined his head in acknowledgement as the tsotska left.
"I'll go here" She pointed to a spot on the map which she could reach without flying, glaring at the navy gryphon as she said so expecting an argument. "Sure." Meiron purred, his amusement completely transparent before taking to the air, and leaving the hatchling staring after him. Grumbling she darted along the path, she'd show her rider that she could do this.
Meiron went quite high so it wasn't massively noticeable he was still keeping an eye on Kovaithe as she scanned the rocks and crannies of the mountain side they were searching. His keen gaze noting several points that an enemy could hide and take out inhabitants below. Thankfully, so far there was no sign of anyone who didn't belong, nothing out of place from this high in the air. A few sweeps of his wings took him further of the path.. and to a hint of smoke that filtered up from below.
The bipedal dragon ran as fast as her legs would take her along the path semi well travelled. Checking the large boulders that guarded the path, she made sure everything was as it should be. Suddenly she halted, smoke filling her nose, as she spotted the large form of her rider starting to descend. Wariness filled her and she slipped into the shadows cast by the rocks that guarded the path, she was both scared and eager for whatever awaited them. Suddenly a navy head peered at her beak grinning as she squeaked tumbling backwards. at the suddenness of it. "Meeeeirrrroon" She huffed, all fluffed up. They gryphon laughed, though it faded as he surveyed the abandoned camp around them. Koviathe too looked around, the smoke from a fire hastily put out. "Did.... did we disturb them?" She asked. "More than likely, It's possible they assumed i was T'tere and one of their gryphons, still at least we can pass on this information as a possible hiding point, and the locals sssshouldn't be caught of guard if they can scout in advance." Meiron responded, sitting back on his haunches as Kovaithe started to have a nosy around ... never know, maybe they left something behind.
