[CA] Fire and Shadow

Belthir ducked as something came charging towards him, small and fast it crashed head first into one of the trees nearby, leaves scattering as a tail wriggled punctuated by excited cheeps and growls. His feathered crest raised as he blinked up unto the green canopy, the star lit sky hidden at present beyond the trees that lay beside Juatasapi; trapped amidst these branches, a small dragon thrashed, flickers of flame scattering, though they faded out before setting anything alight.  He reared up and carefully plucked the companion from her cage using his front two paws and the companion blinked at him, before wriggling enough for him to let go.  Amused he did as she demanded not that his grip had been very tight; she circled around his head imperiously demanding he come with her, well who was he to deny an invite.

Suzuku scanned the area, looking for her companion who she’d sent to lure her … potential suitor to where she was at so she could court him. The stars flickered above her, as the majestic form of the brown volcano stood watch. She like many of the cenote knew of the lone male who visited Kovaithe and she’d seen him about, and had been intrigued enough to follow…. And to attempt a courtship using her fire in a display he wouldn't forget, though it was why she was some distance away from the volcano, the land clear of any growth a sign that fire dragons in times past had also used this area for their courtships. Now though it was for time for her to reveal herself… grinning she flared her translucent wings, sensing her companion coming closer and took off, gathering speed as her flames flickered to full life, her belly blazing as she roared to show she was there.

Belthir was intrigued, he’d semi recognized the small companion as belonging to a dragon from the Cenote, though it was not one he’d interacted with during the times he visited his dam. The companion kept coming back to circle him to make sure he was following, with an occasional sweet croon which told him exactly what her larger self was after. “I’m coming.” He crooned to the small companion, as the tress started to thin, revealing a barren, black patch of land.. Though it remained plain for only a second as the companion darted off;  fire erupted in the air beyond and above him lighting the area into a stunning red light. He halted watching as he saw a sleek form stream past, powering through the flames and manipulating them, a much smaller form followed crafting the flame into more intricate detail and both working together to keep the flames burning;. Around and around they flew around the flames she had generated, the fire taking from of a massive fire bird… and to top it off, magic swirled bringing the flames to life as the firebird danced with the dragons in the air near Juatasapi.

Suszaku grinned, chest heaving as her display continued to dance, she gazed down to where the male watched, the fire lighting up his entranced features. Her companion dove down swooping around his head, crooning for him to join them. Keeping the firebird active was hard, but worth it… though she had to blink as shadows seemed to form around the male, his from becoming larger? Massive shadowy wings flared as the dark bird took off, his features still as they were, just .. Different. She watched as the shadow bird came towards her, she knew dark dragons could shift their form, but this… she hadn't been anticipating. Pulling on her fire magic she wrapped the firebird around herself, the flames blazing as the shadow bird dove, and she follower, her companion gripping her horns as the two magic 'birds' danced above Juatsapi.. The stars their witness at their courtship….
