Entwined Night

Bahamut perched on a rocky outcrop, the moon shining down on him as he kept his gaze out, looking for any sign of the dragon he’d spotted recently, her coils and halo gleaming as she moved. His own wings were resting, angled down, his flames flickering in his nervousness. He didn’t want to scare her, and this was the first time he’d courted any other dragon.
A flicker of red in the distance and he perked up, narrowing his eyes and spotting her halo. First he had to get her attention, and then ….
He flared his wings, his elemental fire flaring around his halo to get her attention. And then hoping he had he focused on one of his magics reaching into the land around him, coaxing the plants. Slowly, green shoots started to spring up around him twisting and twining as he began to construct a nest.

Circuit's little body ducked and weaved as she explored what little of the territory outside her home she could - not being able to fly yet with only one wing was irritating for sure, but with her half mastery of Wind, she had been able to adjust her flight a little bit to glide in the least.
She had met a handsome dragon not too far from her favourite stargazing spot the other day, and now, she was too curious to see if she could meet him again. Being part of Magnus' horde was more trouble then it was worth half of the time, and she wasn't sure she would ever fully bond with him - but the eggs constantly coming in and out of their nursery had made her a little broody for some herself. She had been seeking something, in her first mate, but she wasn't sure what it was.
And then she had met Bahamut, with his gleaming scales and his radiating power and flames. She sensed they shared elements, or at least one element, with the other a little unsure. She had asked some of the other dragons, and found out that dragons like him were the true enigmas of their known world, besides Stellar elementals - he held the power of both night and day.
Since finding this out, her instinct had found her wandering a second time in the night to try and seek him out, and the billow of flames on a halo was the best bet she had that he was there.
Her form blinked in and out of the shadows as she phased between them, before she appeared out of a particularly dark one at the edge of the clearing to marvel at his jungle magic, her halo spinning curiously above her head as she sat and watched, her glowing coils illuminating her own sparkling scales, iridescent. The muscles in her neck twitched behind her transparent skin, both in anticipation and awe, as she tilted her head to follow the crafting.

He felt her presence and his flames flickered quicker in his anticipation, she’d come. He’d picked up on her jungle heritage, or should he say he’d *seen* it, his day magic so new and uncontrollable that he only caught snippets, but he’d seen how she could/would one day control the magics born of a jungle dragon. He could, as shown by the nest he was weaving, but his would never progress past a certain level.
His long tail swept around as he angled his body to invite her closer, orange hues covering the area as his magic wove around, lighting up the iridescence of her scales as massive trees took root around them, wisteria vines and flowers blooming despite the darkness of night, and wildflowers long since dormant stirred, creating a field of stunning color.
To Bahamut though, their beauty was nothing compared to hers, as he looked over her much smaller frame. Carefully he plucked a single rose from the bush he’d grown; lying down so as not to tower over Circuit he held out the singular flower, heart pounding as he waited for her response. His halo flickering in time with his beating heart, faster in his nervousness …still though no flames spread to the nest he’d created.

Circuit's feathered tail flexed as she leaned forward to sniff at the rose, giving her the balance she needed not to topped head over heels into the nest - as impressive as it was, she wanted to be sure of its quality, even if it already looked marvellous.
Seemingly approving of the offered flower and the towering trees, a gust of wind coiled around its stem and freed some of its petals from its head to flutter up into Bahamut's face playfully. Smaller versions of the same pretty red flower bleeding out from her otter-like feet as she splayed her one makeshift wing in a small bow, her scars the only thing to interrupt her perfect night camouflage, rugged and harsh against her scales.
Bow finished, she and her flowers hopped into the nest and started to wander around with more purpose then it first appeared. Tugging on a vine here, digging at a small alcove there, until a bushel of dethorned roses was settled on the nest walls and she, satisfied with its quality and her own little spatter of decoration, sat in the center and peared up at him with a soft expression on her face, tea-hued eyes flicking, finding herself once again admiring his sheen. Her halos spinning slowly, seemingly an idle motion she didn't always realize she did when she was thinking

Bahamut head moved as he followed the playful flowers as he watched her assess his nest, his gaze following her as she wove her own magic, far more dexterous that his own and making the nest *theres*. Carefully he moved his body to circle around her his wings moving to provide shelter if needed as he rested his head next to where Circuit was nestled, his one halo spinning, and while flickers of flame lit up the nest none burned the flora that surrounded them.
