Old Bonds p2

It was morning when the two high ranking men had decided they would set a wedding date for the political side of things in the next month; They knew that the public would want a ceremony, and it was a good time to show their faces and remind them all what power the two old family names -combined- could do.

Old Abrendese, and old T'terre names, and fortunes. Not that Alexander had much old money to begin with, being a bastard son, but that was where the benefit of military pensions and Magnus' own wealth he brought to the table came in handy.

It was decided that to keep up appearances, also, that Alexander's legal home on paperwork would be the Grimshaw estate, but because neither of the pair particularly wanted to sleep anywhere near eachother, that Magnus would build him his own space on some of the spare land outside the gardens. Magnus more then happy to not have to change his decor space, and Alexander happy he didn't have to deal with practically falling over butlers and maids in the day, and his new husbands trophy room at 3am wanderings for water in the night.

Of course there would be a dedicated room for them to 'share' should the need be to show face to others, but, all of that was childsplay. What wasn't childsplay however was the uncertainty of the dragons blessing, something both of them had read up on in the time they had been planning in the vast library in the Grimshaw estate. As a collector, the duke had many a book on dragon goings on, magic and rituals to do with them, and one of them happened to be on the second bond. A volume Alexander himself also owned, thankfully, which meant finding the pages they wanted a much simpler task then Magnus had first envisioned.

He had no real doubt in his own dragons. He knew most of them would do as they were told. Iris and Circuit for one, his true sight and night related experiments. Mischief might be difficult, given her lack of ability to pay attention to anything other then food, but Magnus had faith.

He also had faith in Mavis and Jones, but Glass? Glass he was somewhat worried about.

Alexander on the other hand only had two problems, as compared to Magnus' six. Their names were Ivan and Cathrine. Ivan with his buzzing electric field, and his gracious, beautiful Cathrine and her smooth black scales and branching horns.

He had no idea how either would react to Magnus. He had faith in Cathrine, since she had known him the longest, but Ivan was relatively new. It was a worry he'd rather electrocute his prospected partner, then anything else. By accident or not.

It was going to be a trouble indeed, but the goal was set, and the dragons would have to like it and get along. There was no other option, and they were sure they knew the consequences of being too ridiculous or strong willed around them by now. Gathering Magnus' dragons, they travelled back to the foot of the volcano to finalize everything for convenience sake. It was where all their equipment was, and if Magnus was honest, he thought the jagged peaks that hid its lava core was rather beautiful. No better place then there to get this kind of thing approved.

They waited until nobody was around, before beginning.

Iris and Circuit, as expected, complied easily. A breeze. Mischief however lived up to her name, and caused enough of it that she was given a time out before finally agreeing too under the guise that she'd just been playing.

Mavis had a stand off with Ivan for a time, not seeming to like the other dragon for a moment. Before she turned her snout up at him and walked off. A sense of apprvoal for the rider, but not for their kin.

Then came Jones and Glass. The ones Magnus had worried about he most. The little see through green dragon sat on Jones' back, his heart visibly pumping blood through his veins, as he stared at Cathrine, an Cathrine stared at them. After an uncomfortable moment of silent conversation, both the females nodded, and with a cautious step towards Magnus, Cathrine gently nestled her starpearl in his feathery fingers.

Alex's eyes widened a little bit, not expecting her to do that, but... it was all the sign they needed.

"I think we're approved, don't you?" Alex grinneda
