Activities are ways to level up your character and develop them in the game. You can also obtain items, eggs, currencies, and all sorts of stuff depending on the activity.
Activity Limits per Player:
Adventures | 6 per day |
Den Prompts | 6 per day |
Affiliation Duties | 6 per day |
Training | 6 per day |
Race | 1 Per Week |
Hatchery Quest | 1 Per Month |
The following do not have limits on how often you can do them: Joining an Affiliation, Second Bond, Den Founding, Rider Prestige, Courtship Art, Grand Display, Magic Tier I-IV, Rite of Summoning, Rite of Passage, Rite of Ascension, Rite of Renewal, Pair Bond, Miscellaneous Art or art with no prompt. Events have their own special rules, so be sure to check out their requirements.
General Requirements
- Uploads and forms cannot be locked to log-ins (friends-only, private galleries, only visible to moderators, etc.).
- Characters must be linked in the description of the upload itself.
- If the activity requires a form, it should be in the public description of the submission.
- Uploads should never be a stand-alone .jpg or .png.
Illustration Requirements
- Up to four dragons may receive an Activity Roll per piece.
- Up to four Riders may receive an Activity Roll per piece. There must be an existing elemental dragon in the game pictured for them to gain rolls from art.
- Images must be full body, with a standard background and coloring.
- Images should not look rushed. They do not need to be masterpieces, but should match the usual quality of your rolls.
- You may include more than one image on a single canvas, but each roll should be clearly separated from the others.
- Activities must be turned in one character at a time, even if they're doing the same activity.
- Collaborations are welcome, but they do not raise the limit of participating dragons. The maximum remains four.
- When turning in grid-type art (also called sheets), there must be clear borders.
What is a standard background? A standard background has 3-4 art elements and a sense of depth. There should be different shades/colors for things that are further away. Example art elements are: Clouds, Mountains, Rocks, Bushes, Trees, Seaweed, Rivers, and Lakes. Multiple things (such as many rocks) all count as one element. At least half of the elements should be hand-drawn, rather than brushes. Stamps or copy/pasted images do not count as elements. Simple elements that require no effort, such as dots (for stars) or simple lines (such as 'm' shaped birds) do not count.
Example One:
Left: This background is too simple. Without some sort of depth, none of these solid colors count as elements. | Right: This background has depth on all of the elements, so it's easy to count the elements. This has defined clouds, waves, rocks, a bird, a fence, and even fighting crabs that bring it over the 3-4 needed elements. (example made by kytazy)
Can I do Black and White? To be counted as 'Colored,' the background should have different tones of gray/white/black/silver so all of the markings and traits are visible.
What is the size requirement? There is no size requirement, but your character should be easily recognizable, and all major traits should be visible. 60% of your character or more should be on a background.
Is Chibi art/sketchy art allowed? The majority of your art must be at your average gallery level or above, but occassional simple art is allowed as long as it still meets requirements! Please do not abuse this.
Literature Requirements
- Up to four dragons may participate for a roll in a piece. They must be featured throughout.
- Written entries must be 600 words long. In addition, you can claim an activity for every 300 words if there is more than one character gaining a roll. This means that an activity with one dragon has a minimum of 600, an activity with two dragons has a minimum of 600, and an activity with three dragons has a minimum of 900.
- You may include more than one roll in a single story, but they must be clearly separated by headings and each section must meet the individual word count requirement.
- Collaborations are welcome, but they do not raise the limit of participating dragons. The maximum remains four.
Comic Panel Requirements
For comics, at least two thirds of the required panels should have 60% of a character showing. You may use a black and white style that shows no marks if it's accompanied by screentones, hatching, or other types of shading.
The following have special requirements, and you should read their matching page for info: Den Foundings, Races, Events.
The following has no requirements: Misc Art/Art with No Prompt. This art can include EXP Sheets, crafts, or random sketches.
Terrains
Many activities require a terrain, and your dragon can get a boost for being in terrain that matches its element. There are 12 different terrains that you can learn about here. When in doubt, just put in something that matches the element you are aiming for (fire for Fire, water for Ocean, etc.). You can claim up to two terrains at once.
Using Familiars & Familiar Search Tools:
In order to use Familiars and Familiar Search Tools, the basic Activity requirements should be met. Your character must be one of the four dragons/riders participating in an activity, or they will just receive experience. The exception is Party Parrot, which will apply to anything that qualifies for an event.
