Dragons must undergo thorough courtship traditions before others will be interested in breeding with them. The Grand Display pushes their skills to the limit, ensuring only the finest of Dragons will go on to breed. Each element has their own traditions to impress others of their kind, though this same practice can dissuade their opposing element from breeding. Regardless of this, achieving their own element’s Grand Display is a dream of every growing dragon, and most are eager to enter into the ceremony as soon as permitted.
If you intend to change the sex of your dragon, the Rites of Renewal must be completed before the Grand Display is completed. Note that the sex of your dragon is only a breeding mechanic; They may identify as any gender and use any pronouns regardless of their import information.
Companion Search
If your Display requires a companion, click the desired element to find companions that match! Check the gift art rules before drawing companions. Day may optionally use Fire/Jungle/Thunder/Earth/Light in place of a Day dragon for their first Display, while Night can optionally use Ocean/Wind/Storm/Dark/Metal in place of a Night dragon. These compatible elements may also use Day and/or Night dragons as their companions. Note that companions must belong to another player.

ART REQUIREMENTS
- Up to four dragons may complete their Grand Display in one set of images.
- Images must be full body, with a standard background, and color
- Companions can’t claim activity rolls from Grand Displays. However, they may claim EXP, familiar rolls, and familiar search tools, if applicable, and if they are turned in by the owner.
- You are welcome to include all three prompts in the same canvas, but they must separated by a clear and distinct border.
- You can have dragons other than the companions doing activities. If the activity is different (such as a magic unlock VS grand display), it still contributes to the character limit of the image.
- If you include more than one dragon in a set of rites, each dragon must have its own unique companion!
- All prompts must be turned in at the same time.
- Collaborations are welcome, but they do not raise the limit of participating dragons. The maximum remains four.
LITERATURE REQUIREMENTS
- Up to four dragons may complete their Grand Display in one set of writing.
- Grand Displays have a minimum of 600 words. In addition, you can claim an activity for every 300 words if there is more than one dragon that isn’t a companion. This means that four dragons completing their GCs at the same time will have a word minimum of 1200.
- Companions can’t claim activity rolls from Grand Displays. However, they may claim EXP, familiar rolls, and familiar search tools, if applicable, and if they are turned in by the owner.
- You can have dragons other than the companions doing activities. If the activity is different (such as a magic unlock VS grand display), it still contributes to the minimum word count and character limit.
- If you include more than one dragon in a set of rites, each dragon must have its own unique companion!
- You are welcome to include all three prompts in the same story, but they must be clearly separated by headings and each must meet its minimum word count.
- Collaborations are welcome, but they do not raise the limit of participating dragons. The maximum remains four.
Round One: Strength Trial
Before they can impress potential mates, they must earn the respect of an elemental dragon matching their own element which has already passed through the Grand Display. This dragon should also not belong to the same player as the dragon going through the trial. Complete one of the following prompts with their companion as witness.
1 Show a moment in your dragon's life that drove them to become stronger. | 2 Show your dragon performing an amazing magical feat (must match their element). |
3 Show your dragon overcoming a physical or mental weakness. | 4 Show your dragon impressing another. This may be through battle, contest, general action, or some charismatic flirting. |
Round Two: Flexibility Trial
Flexibilty must take place in a terrain that does not match your dragon's element. Read more about terrains here. Another dragon from another player of the terrain’s element that has already completed their Grand Display must accompany the dragon.
1 Show your dragon caring for someone in need. | 2 Show your dragon guiding their companion through unexplored terrain. |
3 Show your dragon cooperating with someone they dislike or a complete stranger. | 4 Show your dragon using their wits to overcome a challenge. |
Round Three: Providence Trial
To complete the Providence Trial, your dragon must prove that they can provide for a family. They do not need a companion for this prompt. Show them fulfilling one of the following prompts:
1 Show your dragon building a nest or home. | 3 Show your dragon finding a valuable treasure to start a hoard. |
2 Show your dragon hunting or gathering to provide a meal. |
4 Show your dragon protecting something precious. |
