Veasna seemed cunning, charming, and quick of wit. She was quite good with her words, and in the situation she'd gotten involved in, it appeared that she handled it quite well. Of the eggs in the storage chest, one in particular felt called to her. Light and jungle were to be Vivi's domains, and this dragon saw great potential in that combination. There was something decidedly gay going on between these two as they enjoyed their time out on the town. Even if Cortez didn't completely know who he was dealing with, he loved them all the same, and that ended up catching the attention of a dragon. Eventually, anyways! His connection to the other circles was still apparent, though, what with all his shivering. Risk's ability for glamour is no secret. I mean, he's more attractive than a camel and even a lion. He's obviously suited to the most dazzling of dragons. The whole 'coming-from-the-circle-of-lust' thing helps a little, too. His dash of cleverness and newfound lazy attitude also caught the attention of a smaller critter. Malphas has a habit of inciting chaos. Sure, it's a small amount of chaos, but it's just enough to ruffle Zeph's feathers. Or...hackles. Or whatever he has. Ven was excellent at Italian dishes, but he hadn't quite ventured out of that culinary coze zone. While their nightmare form might have been frightening, or even mistaken for a dragon, Diz'gannech himself was innocent. Hardly what you'd consider a demon. Many elements were wary of their naivete, since it came with a heavy dose of danger. The odd combination even drew away the metal dragons. However, there was one group of dragons interested in the warpa. It took them a while for the dragons to get an egg to him--honestly, it takes them a while to think of anything, so who could blame them?--but in the end, they were satisfied with the Rider they had chosen.

Ryuu was a bit tentative to trust other people, but nonetheless, he found himself making a home among them. Oddly enough, his appearance as a dragon seemed to help! There was something very interesting about this poacher - he had an incredible amount of focus in tracking down dragons and other beasts, the strength to take them down, and, if not the patience to wait for things to happen, the drive to get out there and get things done himself. Jenka's naivete was the only thing keeping him out of trouble with Havoc, that's for sure. But his kindness and accountability also impressed a few dragons along the way, unbeknownst to him. They certainly kept their distance after watching him cling to the Quill and the Mino, not wanting to cut him with their scales, but left an egg where he could find it. Excalibur knew a thirst for vengeance when she saw it. The flicker in this pup's eyes gave it away all on its own, but the bitterness in each word only added to it. It was her nature to pursue such desires--nothing was more fun than to see justice served--but it was even more within her realm to recognize the madness in this pup's mind. He was weak, in every sense of the word. The shadows of his past clawed into his consciousness every time his resolve quivered. If there was anyone who knew about good stories, it was Macaroon. His vocabulary might be limited, but he could listen to stories for hours. When the white-feathered Wind dragon swept by to chat about an interesting child, he took interest. Perhaps she was good. A Good Rider, for a Good Bird. But he needed to confirm. The Wind dragon sought out the storyteller and again came back with interesting tales. They were high myths and stories from some forgotten corner of the Chronoscape, all told with an excitement only a child could have. She might have been young, but Mac knew a Good Rider when he saw one. With a bit of cooperation from the dragons of the area, he saw to it that some type of egg rolled its way into her arms. She would be sure to love and care for whatever popped out of that egg, but more importantly, she would be sure to inform it that it was a Good Bird. Even without its own name, the Knight was able to name and care for others. Lazarus had always enjoyed the company of dragons--that much was easy to tell. Goliath enjoyed her chittering dance with the strange boy. Kane clearly knew that a dragon would come and go, just as he did across the realm. But regardless of location, a different kind of passion burned inside him. He was adventurous, pure, and quite charming. He spoke sincerely and appeared good at calming others. Styx had been watching the door for as long as she knew, studying the creatures who guarded it. They were fascinating to her, though she knew soon that they would bring a certain quarry down to the depths soon enough.
As would she. With the rider clutched in her hands, she knew not to let him die. No, she had greater plans for him. Ones she couldn't fufill alone.
A tropical island, lost in the sea, amidst the maze of dimensional doors, was the part-time home of a peculiar dragon. He could help Styx in her quest. Yes- a gift was needed. Quickly and quietly, in the night, the two left a particular egg by the beached navigator, a fruit of the island itself.

The egg had been waiting for some time, along with its parent. The sire checked often to see if the egg had managed to call someone, and yet, it sat deserted for some time. It would not be moved, either. Swallowtail would wander the sea and gather tales of its guests, hoping to coax the egg into a space where it could be seen. Nonetheless, it would not relent. 'This is where I'm meant to be.' Oceans have a curious habit of knowing exactly what to do. Both Swallowtail and the little one knew it was not to be moved. And, at last, the one meant to hatch the egg arrived. Just like that, the many years of waiting were forgotten, and the hatchling could only anxiously await the moment it could finally emerge.

The exploratory nature of this solitary critter intrigued Chrysanthemum. Although they looked like a lizard of sorts--not that she would ever say that out loud--their claws were quite nimble. Especially when it came to potions. Or, at least, that's one of the things she enjoyed from their company. More thrilling was their idea to burn the fields to flush out prey. As Ambrogio danced to and fro between the song and lute, he cast a curious eye at the fellow making the music. There was something of a kinship between them that stretched farther than a love of song or a show of strength. The dragon couldn't tell much just from looking at the man, but he did know this--he lacked the tell-tale sign of having a dragon in his own care. Eridanus had not forgotten of the little T'tere she had encountered all those days ago. No- as with her phsyical wandering nature, her mind itself wandered back to the potential rider several times. She had shown a particular compassion that day.
It had been felt by another dragon, as well. They had been keeping an eye on her, ever since the dark dragon had landed in their sea.

The egg was wrapped tightly in its blankets, kept safe from the world outside. Eulalia was prepared. Her heart felt for the creature within, and soon its own heart had reached out for her's.
With a small crack, a wet face emerged into the light of the den. Its eyes were warm as the two of them connected, pure love passing between the two of them in an instant. The small dragon was crying- was it upset, or was it the water inside of its egg?- no. No, it was happy, for its heart was full for the perfect life ahead of itself.

Starspeck's proclivity to recognize potent poisons, combined with her ability to care for her pack, impressed more than a few dragons. Jungle dragons were particularly intrigued by her fast and accurate identification of herbs. Thunder dragons certainly took note of her dedication, but she was far too confident and firm with those around her to properly serve under them. As snarky as this little cat might be, in action, he is a dependable worker. Meiron learns quickly, gets the job done thoroughly, and more than anything, cares about the work he does. Bran's fiery nature was more than a little apparent. But, alongside that deep loyalty, his reverence for dragons was made clear through his actions. He was loving and passionate, even if he could show a nasty streak. He was dedicated to his work and--more than anything else--he was intuitive. This intuition dominated all of his interactions, attracting the attention of more than a few Wind dragons.

The ability to recognize the views of others and successfully mediate was their domain, after all. While they would have been happy to claim him as their own, this same intuition of theirs realized he was much more suited to another purpose. A purpose higher than wings could ever take him lay ahead. Perhaps he would raise one of their hatchlings in time, but for now, they knew which egg he needed...and it wasn't theirs.

Storm dragons never looked for the conventional. Ainsley was an interesting one, that was sure. She was clearly freezing in the storm, knees shaking, teeth chattering, eyes staring forward and focusing on her goal. She wasn't resigned to death, but that didn't stop death from creeping behind her. Blizzard could sense her tenuous hold on life, even if she couldn't. Her luck had run out. And--despite this--she had the gall to treat him so rudely? He was curious about her. From looking at her, he could tell what she was not. She wasn't much of a courageous person, despite her attitude. She had no qualms about who was owed what--after all, she dared to command him--an independent dragon--to do her bidding without asking something in return. Hardly the honorable sort, he knew. At the same time, she was not strong enough to fend for herself, and she was too troubled to admit it.

As she left her to her own machinations, he blended back into the blizzard and prepared for some of his own. She was quite the opposite of a Fire dragon Rider--perhaps she had ran into some trouble? He cackled into the storm, and the storm replied with a burst of snow. She had all the attributes she needed as a Storm Rider, but more than that, he would do anything to relish the suffering a Fire dragon would have upon seeing her riding a Storm. Knowing that, for one reason or another, they had kindled a darkness in her. That before they could do anything, a Storm dragon went and saved her. He might have left her a little luck--she was amusing, after all. But he also left something a little more personal, just to spite those smoke-breathing salamanders.

With such a radiant personality, more than a few dragons took note of the selfless little Tsotska that spent so much of her time with them. The Ocean dragons adored her for her loving and gentle nature. She earned the trust of even the haughty Thunder dragons, which saw her as a valuable ally. Apophis knew the egg belonged to someone. A dragon doesn't simply leave an egg unattended. Someone nearby would own it, and she had a strong feeling about who it might be. With his insufferable nature and constant complaining, Cole surely caught the attention of a dragon, even if she'd never give him one of her own brood. He did far too little work to impress an Earth or Metal dragon, even in a place like this. On top of that, he was too stubborn to serve a Thunder dragon. No, she was quite sure that the egg was left behind by a certain troublesome hooved fellow. As Cole struggled to lift the egg, she knew her intuition was right.

Faced with the brazen selfishness of Set, Golem was originally offput. How dare she request something of her, a creature far older and far more powerful? And of all things, one of her own brood? In being able to casually watch Liam, Freckle was able to observe his strict behavior and haughty attitude. It seemed as though he preferred to stick around the typical and expected than to probe out in the world. But despite his claims and apparent annoyance, he was still quick to care for the many little dragons he found under his studious care--complaining but not refusing. She also saw him going beyond the needed minimum--not just caring for the little dragons, but enriching them as well. As keen on Light dragons as Staessus was, he was not quite suited to be their Rider. Adonis knew this at once he heard the journey Staessus took through the Chronoscape just to learn more about dragons. It was not so much that he would be a poor Light rider--no, not that at all. It was more that he excelled at something far more appropriate. Gamigin was a stubborn fellow and as annoyed as he could ever be about this stranger in his territory. This was his sea and salvaging site, not this strange wannabe wyrm that was floundering about like she owned the place. Even so, this was quite a peculiar specimen he had come across. Mariposa knew this girl was weak in more way than one. She was anxious, self-deprecating, and could hardly contain herself as she wept. Hardly attractive features to a fire dragon. And yet, Mariposa knew the girl had a small smoldering of strength inside her. She was brave and enduring. She knew the truth of the world, and a part of her wanted to fight against it. To free herself. Mariposa was well within her power to make it happen, so long as Elijah's strength could hold out long enough. It wasn't unheard of for a spark of flame to go out before an egg could hatch. The Rider simply wouldn't have the energy to keep the dragon alive--thus it would wait for a suitable Rider, alone for what seemed like an eternity to them. Choosing someone with a weak flame like this was always risky, but it was one Mariposa would take. She believed the strength of a dragon could kindle something great in Elijah. As she left the egg with her and watched her leave her home, she knew that Elijah had more than enough resolve to hatch the egg. Tsillah had a strange place in the world, that much was certain. She clearly hailed from the Chronoscape and her form was ever shifting. The way she innocently approached the first dragon she saw, cared for even the fiercest-looking dragons, and inspected the world around her with wonder all rang true with a single element. She was calm, but also curious. Hibiscus always loved the curious types, but she seemed much too sincere to be one of his own chosen. That didn't stop him from making Graffiti leave an egg with the Rider. She was patient enough to read a book as she waited for her dragon to hatch. So patient, in fact, that the little dragon might have wanted a peek of the book for herself as she burst out of the egg!

The would-be Riders were certainly getting braver by the day--that much Apophis knew. She enjoyed her little scrub-down from a girl who was clearly experienced with the job. Perhaps the girl felt it her duty to care for any dragon that crossed her path? She ignored all of the danger just to ensure Apophis would be cared for. This was certainly a woman who would go on to become a Rider...but not one of her own. As she quietly left the waters and Pandora behind her, she knew someone was already at work to make this a reality. The dragon stole one last glance at the water as the future Rider exited the river. Behind her, a red fin broke the surface and then disappeared just as quickly. The girl wouldn't--couldn't--notice. But that was all good and well. He would make sure that the girl could fulfill her destiny.

Dawn was separated from her past by more than time. While she grew more and more akin to her old self, she wasn't quite there...not yet, anyways. When Apophis met her in the woods, she knew right away that something was strange about this cat's aura. An Ere soul had clearly attached itself, but it was weak, fragmented, and barely holding on. There was no telling if it would break. It was in her nature to leave these matters to the hands of fate, but something in her wouldn't let it stand. This intertwining of souls could show such courage in the dead of night without flinching, even when presented with a beast such as herself. She knew what could heal a broken soul like that, though it came with its own set of troubles. Apophis would need to ask him for help.

Sure, they might have been skittish at times, but they were a hard worker and quite attentive to those around them. They had a gift with words, and such dramatics certainly came in handy during storytelling. Because of this, Meteor enjoyed the tales that they wove and was confident they would make a superb dragon Rider. But what sort? Oh, they wouldn't do as a Wind rider. They were excellent with words, yes, but they didn't have the charisma that a mover of people needed. No, the determining factor would be their patient dedication to their work, despite their own weaknesses. The special care they gave to others would surely lead to a polished and fine-tuned pair in the end.

There was never much of a question as to her alignment. Perhaps instinct was what drew that strange stalker dragon to her. She was quick to be of service when she could, incredibly respectful in the presence of a dragon, and had all the aptitude to serve something with greater power than her own. While she may not have had the technical prowess or magical ability to create a perfect vessel, she had all the potential needed. Android was perfectly comfortable to leave one of his brood with her--the new bond would surely spark a change in the world.

Drama was never one for secrets. She was a little annoyed that she needed the help of someone else, but at the same time, she was pleased with her fortune. She told all of her troupe companions about the lovely girl that had helped her in the field, with only what was in her pocket, all on her own. She was such a braggart that she even ended up telling an audience about it. By that time, the story had grown out of proportion. She had been in a fierce battle with a feral dragon and mortally wounded, only for a fair maiden to defend her from the beast and cure her wounds. She even had the scar to prove it, so it was a true story. As they say, 'No legacy is so rich as honesty.'

One curious dragon that had been sleeping in the rafters grew interested by the tale. With a bit of prodding, she even managed to find the location of the scene...and the girl herself. She was a curious sort and always brimming with energy. Sure, she was passionate about her work and the people around her, but something else was far more impressive to this dragon. Her adaptability. She was always learning and quick to find solutions. Even a bit brave, at times. He would leave an egg with her, after all. Perhaps the two would grow and blossom together.

Fletcher's journey was hardly an easy one. He pursued his passion and was ridiculed for it. Even still, he persisted, befriending what dragons he could along the way. Duckie was impressed by his strength and bravery as he left it all behind. She recognized the resolve inside of him as she carried him to a distant town, where she hoped he would be safe. But she wasn't the only dragon that noticed his deeds. Left behind, the smouldering torch was a token of Fletcher's misgivings. Duckie may not have noticed, but he did. As he braved the flames, doing his best to prevent further casualties, this dragon knew the cause of the fire. And he delighted in it. Too long had the workers been cruel to that child. The pain they had inflicted now returned to them threefold. He saved what he could--it was his duty--and simply hoped they would learn from their mistakes.

He kept an eye on Fletcher without his knowing, inspecting his worthiness as a Rider. Should he be graced with an egg? Would he be suitable for one of his brood? Dragons look for very particular qualities, after all. Fletcher was an outsider and someone with a strong sense of justice. At the same time, he cared for dragons to the fullest, and certainly held no grudge against his new little town. Rather the opposite--he seemed to love his new home. While Fletcher had a proclivity for hiding in dark places, seeing the real character of people, and seeming a little eccentric at times, the dragon was glad to have found him before a Dark dragon did. He left the would-be Rider a gift, watched him take it in, and knew a brand new bond would be forged in fire.
