On occasion, dragons will form a pair bond with mates they find particularly compatible. The dragons must be Level One or higher. This connection invariably centers upon love. While they are unable to form a mental connection like Riders do, the permanent companion improves their quality of life. A dragon may only form one pair bond at a time.
Quest to Create a Pair Bond
Create a comic or written story that touches on at least two of these themes:
- Building a Nest
- Falling in Love/Courtship
- Introducing them to a Rider (if they do not share Riders) or sharing a secret about their Rider
- Caring for Hatchlings
Comics must be at least fifteen panels long. Written entries must be at least 2500 words. More is always encouraged. Only comics or written entries are accepted. If the dragons are purebred and opposing elements ( Ocean x Light, Fire x Storm, Jungle x Wind, Thunder x Dark, or Metal x Earth), then the requirements are doubled. If the dragons are not owned by the same player, then the quest should be a collaboration. Upon completion, dragons gain the benefits of a pair bond.
FORM:

Quest to Break a Pair Bond
To break off a pair bond, simply create a comic or written story about their lost love. How you interpret this is up to you.
Comics must be at least five panels long. Written entries must be at least 1500 words. More is always encouraged. Only comics or written entries are accepted. If the dragons are purebred and opposing elements ( Ocean x Light, Fire x Storm, Jungle x Wind, Thunder x Dark, or Metal x Earth), then the requirements are halved (rounded down). If the dragons are not owned by the same player, only one player needs to initiate this quest for it to succeed. It may be done by one player or as a collaboration. Upon completion, both dragons lose the benefit of a pair bond.
Benefits of a Pair Bond
- They gain a 5EXP bonded bonus when depicted together.
- When bred together, the couple is treated as having courtship art. This means that they will always have an extra egg and never use up their slots when paired with each other.
- Player(s) may provide two of the same Legendary breeding item. In example, two Twilight Essences. These items can be equipped and soulbound to the pair bond. When breeding with each other, the pair bond may use their items as a breeding buff without drawing from an inventory.
F.A.Q.
Can my dragon breed with others outside of the bond?
Yes. They can breed to any dragon. However, only the pair bond will receive pair bond benefits!
Can I bond two dragons of the same sex?
Absolutely! Keep in mind that gay pairs are only able to breed through the use of Twilight Incense. Twilight Incense is one of the legendary breeding items that a pair bond can equip!
Do I need to equip a breeding item?
No, it’s an optional bonus.
Can I equip my dragons with different breeding items?
No, they must be the same item.
Can I remove the old breeding items?
You can remove them, but they won’t return to your inventory or give you any Silvence.
What happens to the equipment when a bond is broken?
The equipment vanishes.
Can I equip something different after a bond has something equipped?
Yes, you can add in items at any time. The old items (if there were items) will vanish.
Can I use the Breeding Item twice?
As always, you can't double up on breeding items. All breeding supplements must be unique, and there is still a limit of three.
