Character Name: Cheveska
Part One:
Cheveska was out and about exploring the jungle he called home. Looking at all the intriguing sights and sounds when something odd caught his attention. Something massive was weaving through the underbrush… and coming straight for him! Immediately he ascends higher to the tree tops. Looking down at the mystery before him in both mild fear and intrigue. What emerged from the underbrush had his eyes sparkling in wonder.
It looked to be a dragon, yet no dragon he had ever heard of before. With a head covered with a golden carapace that shined and sparkled in the caught light seeping through the canopy above. A crown of thorns on their head that breaks through the golden armor, with an odd energy halo floating around the neck. A neck much like a snake that weaves down to a monstrous yet beautiful body. Scales underneath the golden armor were a shimmering dark blue. Bioluminescent patterns accentuate the nimble body hidden beneath the golden armor. Further down the body was its pair of wings. Partially specter, looking almost like a mist, they flow into the underbrush behind it. All in all, from what Cheveska could see, this dragon was a majesty to behold.
The wondrous beast was looking up at him in turn, watching him in some mild interest. Eyes wide, he leans down to get a better look at the wonder in front of him. Seeing into the piercing blue eye that seemed to be as deep as the darkest of caves and densest of the jungle. Hiding many secrets and many adventures behind those eyes. However, upon seeing and feeling the intelligent gaze judge him in turn, he does what he can to show respect. Craning his head down and curling into himself and around the branch he has perched on. He may still have much to learn as a young pip but he knows when to show respect.
As if recognizing something within, the dragon stares at him for a few moments longer before turning to leave. Looked at him for a moment, as if checking to see if he would follow. For a moment Cheveska hesitates but is compelled to follow, something pulling at him to go, his antennae twitching in cautious anticipation. Seeing the look in its eyes, he couldn’t help it, it called to him. As he does, he doesn’t realize that at some point he had gone through a portal door and ended up somewhere far stranger with many strange people, and it was all going to get ever stranger and fantastical from here.
-------------
Part Two:
Cheveska had no idea where he was anymore. A caravan of many peoples sat in front of him along with the beautiful dragon that had brought him here. Looking around, he could see the place was just grasslands and plains around here and seemed to stretch on forever. Turning around, he found… his way home gone… he was stuck here with these mysterious people. Beginning to internally panic at this blunder he made. So enthralled with the majesty of the dragon that he had not considered the consequences. Now here he was, without his people and amidst vast grassland with all kinds of unknown dangers.
He is eventually brought out of his panicked thoughts by an unknown person, they looked somewhat like the humans he heard about, though… they were different… As they spoke, even if it was in a calming, understanding tone, he couldn’t understand what was being said. Both quickly learned that that would be his first step. So he is simply guided to the rest of the group, and from the looks of it, it’s to get him settled in. The dragon that had brought him here soon joined the odd person’s side.

Since that first encounter years ago, Cheveska has learned quickly. Picking up the common tongue of these people and learning about their cultures and the dragons that surround them. Listening intently to the tales they told soaking in every word with intrigue and sometimes some skepticism. Albard had taught him a lot when they first met. Now it was time to utilize what had been taught. Even though Cheveska listened with interest and understood the woes of those around him, he wasn’t very talkative and tended to be by himself when left to his own devices.
Such as of right now, though now he is trying to spend his time helping around with the dragons as they get ready to move through the Chronoscape once more. He’d practiced a little with Velia, the dragon who brought him here and is the partner to Albard. Now it was time to help the other dragons, beginning with cleaning. It was a tough job, cleaning not only their temporary nesting area but also the dragons themselves. Especially the big ones, but he was managing somehow. Then came the check-up for their gear and helping in getting them saddled, it was difficult with the check-up since he still didn’t know a lot in the medical subject. However, when it came to helping to apply the armor and saddles for some, his ingenuity shone through. Created a clever system made of wood and his silk to make it far easier to place the armor and saddles on. Utilizing his climbing ability to help secure what needed it.
By the end of the day, he was well satisfied with his first try all on his own without much guidance. Now all that was left was to recuperate while they moved to the gate. Hopping into his makeshift nest of a bed to rest for a while. Slowly drifting off into sleep where he had odd dreams, not only of home but of this exciting new future before him and something else. It was odd but… the dream was ending with him in the Chronoscape, in a section that was only forest and jungle as far as you can travel. He was drawn to this place and at peace with it. Which was foolhardy since he was warned many a time about the dangers the Chronoscape held. Yet he always felt oddly at home there in that infinite landscape.
Then he was awake as they started to traverse that familiar yet different land. Staying within the caravan as he had no partner… though… maybe one day he’ll have the honor to be entrusted with one...
-------------
Part Three:
It had been a few more years since Cheveska had initially started helping out around the caravan, easily taking responsibility for what he needed to do. Greatly enjoying when he was able to create things. However, as always he was rather aloof and preferred to be alone with his thoughts. Looking up into the sky of these new lands they have found themselves in for the next week or so. Contemplating how he got here and how he had gotten so far. Even if he missed his mother and father and his 6 siblings dearly he had a new home and a new family to commit to… least for the time being until they decide otherwise.
Humming in contemplation for a moment, bringing out his small notebook and flipping to the pages of his notes about the dragons around. He was feeling restless… even if his endeavor yields nothing, he still wishes to try and gain the acknowledgment of one of the dragons. It was a goal he’s had for a while now. Since they’re camping in a relatively peaceful world, he’ll take the moment to give it a shot.
So, with a small huff, he gets up onto all fours and makes his way over to Velia since she was the one to first meet him and bring him into this new life of his, and what better place to start than with the one who started it all. Making his way up to her grand majesty, he took a moment to admire her golden carapace that lay upon her like armor with the dark glowing scales underneath. As if a galaxy was being protected by a golden casing. Giving a respectful greeting and bowed to her once he was close enough. Hearing her acknowledgments he inched a little closer. Getting comfortable where he is before he starts anything.
Thinking up what to say before coming up with something that could help entertain and pass the time. So he quickly excuses himself for a moment, feeling mighty embarrassed by his blunder, and bounded off to his little nest. Coming back soon after with a large board in his second set of hands. Placing down the board, he started setting up the pieces before offering a quiet game with the giant board. Setting up the scene, it looks to be a game reminiscent of Shogi, though it isn’t the same. Finding this strategy game is both fun and challenging.
Thankfully, Velia seems to humor him and his fine creation listening closely as he explains the game. Soon they are at war in the game, this will be a fun challenge indeed. Cheveska’s tail thumps gently on the ground with his antennae twitching in concentration throughout the game. Playing Shogi against dragons certainly isn’t something Cheveska ever thought would happen to him, yet here he is and he is having a good time, even if he still has nightmares and dreams of home.
