Now that the storms have passed and many of the fires are under control with plenty of defenses set up, Cheveska has been allowed to help in the healing of the burned land. Of course, he has a chaperone in one of his caravan peers, but he can help a lot due to being a Jungle Rider. So here he was, in the midst of a burned field, where charred animals covered in soot were found and cared for. If they could be saved, the rescuers would do their absolute to save them. If they wouldn’t make it, their last moments would be as painless as possible.
As for Cheveska, as much as he is keeping an eye out for any stray animals left, he also has his own job to do. Looking to the crusted sooty ground, he begins to inspect the area for any surviving vegetation before starting. He also has to make sure the ground has cooled and is no longer too warm. Though, he will admit inwardly that he feels mighty uncomfortable walking around in this sooty soil. Sure, he’s had to walk around on all fours on the ground for a long time now due to the nature of his Caravan, however, it doesn’t mean he isn’t uncomfortable when doing so. Especially in a situation like a thing.
Castoran seems to also be uncomfortable, or at least a little worried for Cheveska. Probably because she can feel his discomfort. However, they press on and once Cheveska has a lay of the land around, they get to work. Planting new seedlings and using some minor Jungle magic to grow the seedlings into sprouts. Any plants that are found to somehow still be alive will be healed and taken care of as well. Slowly the blackened fields begin to turn green. Though at times Cheveska with his chaperone takes a moment to put out a stray fire.
After the first day, the ground and forest were looking far better however, the revitalization process was only just beginning. Over the course of the next day, Cheveska and Castoran were out and about checking on the plants that had been planted yesterday. Making sure they weren’t drying out due to all the heat. If they needed water, thankfully the chaperone was there and could help water the plants. Keeping all these small sprouts healthy was of top priority. Once the sprout's health was checked and confirmed, they use some more minor Jungle magic to slowly grow the sprouts a little more.
This process was repeated over a couple of days until some stronger Jungle Riders came to finish the process. Allowing Cheveska and Castoran the ability to move to another area to begin the process all over again. At some points, Castoran did find some injured animals, who were swiftly taken care of. Cheveska does his best to help the creatures, aided by the chaperone. In the end, he used his silk to keep any wounds closed and covered so they didn’t hurt themselves more or get infected along the way back to camp where they would be cared for properly and thoroughly.
After the whole ordeal with the animals, Cheveska and Castoran went back to work. Helping sprouts grow as well as any saplings that survived the initial fires. At one point they actually came across an ancient tree, that although burned was still standing. It was a giant, spiraling tree that had many branches and looked to be made of many trees due to the snaking trunk that looked to have holes in it without being truly dead and hollow. Pulsing with life, the two set to work helping the tree while the Chaperone went off to go get more professional help. Yes, the regrowth of the forests was coming along nicely thankfully. Hopefully, it won’t be hindered too much in the coming months.
